The Challenge
Producing complete dimension sets for an architectural plan is one of the most time-consuming production tasks in BIM. Annotators must manually select wall face references, align chains to grids, manage offsets for each layer, handle linked-model elements separately, and repeat the entire process for every room and every opening — across dozens of floors. The work is repetitive, error-prone, and offers no value that a computer cannot perform faster and more reliably.
Our Solution
AutoDimension analyses the active Revit view, collects all walls, grids, rooms, openings, and linked-model elements automatically, then places fully coordinated dimension chains in a single operation. Three independent modes cover every annotation layer — outer building extents, interior room-to-room dimensions, and ceiling electrical fixture positioning — with configurable offsets, dimension type selection, and room filtering built into a clean WPF interface.

MODE 02
MODE 03
Automatic Opening Detection
Scans all elements in the linked model and identifies every location where a wall opening is required — no manual review needed.
Intelligent Element Matching
Matches each linked element to its host wall with precision, calculating the correct opening size and position based on element geometry.
Miss Prevention
Flags and reports any elements that could not be matched, ensuring no opening is overlooked before construction begins.
Coordination Summary Report
Generates a complete log of all openings created, with element references — ready for BIM coordination reviews.
